This school has been incredible for Pre-K. My son's already learning sight words and he feels really loved and safe at school. In his class, there are 14 kids with a full-time teacher and a full-time aid. He also receives an incredible amount of individual attention. Students are pretty kind! His friends always give him a hug and hello. He's always enjoying the school activities. Best part would be the gospel that is woven into every aspect of education. We're staying here for life and I really can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to attend.
The Brook Hill School is our son Do Hu Dam Quan's choice out of nearly 30 international schools enrolled in Hanoi, Vietnam, for school year 2019 to 2020. This is the first year that our son came here, so we can't help but to worry. However, through research, especially through daily conversations with Quan, we gradually brought our peace of mind and confidence for this school. As a result, we believe that this school is a meeting place for many cultures, which has an excellent educational environment with caring for comprehensive human development. This is reflected in the daily school activities, the teachers and staff who cares about students, especially the foreign ones. We understand that to achieve the desired academic results depends on many factors of the subjectivity, objectivity and effort of each individual over a long process in the following years. But, a good living environment will make an important contribution for good academic results. We believe that this school is the best choice. We feel the sincerity and friendliness through the meeting with Mrs. Hilliary Cheatham. She's the representative of the boarding admissions office in Hanoi in October 2019. I hope that my son and his classmates will do a better in making this school more trusted in educational destination for every student in the world.
I have a sophomore son who's been in The Brook Hill School for two years, a sixth grader son who's been there for a year, and an eighth grader daughter who's also here for a year. I love its facilities, curriculum, administration and leadership. But the thing I love the most is the teachers who really care. They don't only care about how my children learn the materials they taught, but they also care about their character, their heart and their relationship with God. I've seen my child's teachers cry when they talked about how our child overcame some struggle. Also, I've seen teachers show up at events, just because they love these kids. I was hesitant to send my children to a Christian school. Yes, I am a Christian and my strongest hope for my children is for them to be believers too. My concern was that in a Christian school, our children learned to be a good person and to live and act as a Christian must. This would produce nothing but legalism. And as soon as they could free themselves from this burden, they would and throw Jesus out with it. However, this school isn't a covenant school one, where you have to be a Christian to participate. You're free to ask questions, to sting the faith and struggle through issues that are base to Christianity. It's a safe environment, where exploring these issues, can lead to a real and personal understanding of truth. Overall, I'm a big fan of this school and I do highly recommend it.
I personally saw how important the relationship is in The Brook Hill School. As a parent, my boys would receive personal cards from teachers, coaches and the head of school on a regular basis. Our school principal cut out a newspaper clipping and mailed it to my son. We still have a card of my son Jared, when he received his freshmen year from his humanities teacher on our refrigerator, just telling him how blessed he was that our family chose this school. As a teacher, the relationship that bonds between teacher to student, is the norm here rather than the exception. Many schools can offer a Christ-centered and college preparatory education. But, this school is both with family type relationships, as it's bloodline.
I have nothing but positive things to say about The Brook Hill School. Classroom sizes are large and have enough space to accommodate children at comfortable tables for their age level. The ratio of students to teachers is fantastic, not too big, not too small. Their athletic programs are amazing! They learn to develop students from early childhood through high school by teaching them the importance of reading scriptures daily and living it every day.
