We've seen such a significant blossoming effect with our son since we were part of the Forest Edge class at Friends School Haverford. We know that it's deeply influenced by the intentional ways in which teachers validate feelings, model kindness as well as respect, encourages resilience and flexibility plus, celebrate individuality. Every day, our child is eager to go to school and spend the day with his teachers and all his friends. As a parent, it's the most wonderful thing to witness how happy our daughter is while going to school and see her extraordinary growth as a result of these phenomenal teachers. Also, the two teachers here were very kind to our family. They always made time to attend to our experiences as parents. They talk to us to validate our worries. This school is a phenomenal educational experience and community.
Friends School Haverford, have an exorbitant amount of rules that were not written down and not consistently enforced. Unfortunately, some kids get away with murder and others are punished for the smallest offense. I can say that, they use punishment a lot.
Our daughter started attending Friends School Haverford during elementary school and we're very happy with her experience as she moved on to high school. They have an academically challenging yet creative learning approach. Our daughter does not spend her days preparing for the test. They have a small and diverse community that benefits from the active participation of families.
We had a terrible experience at FSH! The new leadership will have the opportunity to affect change by improving academics, stopping the judgment of children with challenges and redeeming the loving mission this school has. Their outdoor space is awesome and they have wonderful animals in the rooms. Excluding math and science, they do a good job with coursework through 6th grade.
Our son started this year at Friends School Haverford in the middle school and we could not be happier. The community of kids here is incredibly welcoming and kind. My son felt at home almost immediately, despite entering a small school in one of the upper grades. The teachers are wonderful and flexible, but they also push children to do their best. In addition, they are not afraid of children confronting difficult issues. This school is also the rare private school that is welcoming and inclusive for the disabled. Just one of the many wonderful aspects of their truly diverse community. Diversity and inclusion is little more than a catch phrase for many private schools. In here, it is a real commitment. The academics are great. I'm sure my son will graduate from eighth grade, prepared for any high school. Overall, it's hard to imagine a better middle school experience for my son, aside from here.
