Beach Park School offers developmental social skills that can't be learned in a traditional school setting. I'm actually really impressed by the independence that my children have developed here.
The elementary level is good. However, once you hit middle school, the teaching style changes significantly. It's pretty much an exorbitant form of homeschooling due to a lack of thorough instruction. Unfortunately, my daughter struggled with Math while she was here. The teacher and the head of the administration suggested that she wouldn't be able to handle high school math and consequently wouldn't graduate. However, she proved them wrong by graduating from a local Catholic school with a 3.4 GPA, even managing to score B's in Math. All it took was some dedicated teaching and the help of a tutor. The issue wasn't that my daughter couldn't understand Math, but rather the school's failure to provide satisfactory math instruction. They seemed to overlook this flaw and were more comfortable limiting a child's potential than addressing their clear weaknesses.
