I'm a Carden Whittier School alumni and now in my late twenties. How wonderful it is to stumble on this resource. Years later, I'm living in New York City, having gone to a college that my parents are proud of. I'm very happy with how things turned out. Not just for how it looks from the outside, but how I feel inside. Here are my thoughts on having gone to this school: This school awarded me with some unique talents. Beautiful cursive handwriting, unshakeable knowledge in writing and grammar, fluency in the arts, albeit some of it in bad, puritanical taste. The teachers here are nice and dedicated. However, there's always a bad egg in there. A mean old lady who resents the children more than she loves them. Leadership is alright. A little paranoid though. You will read, perform plays, and learn French for god's sake. It's an impressive thing to be able to say what horse in French is, in a split second. I'm endlessly grateful I write in archaic cursive handwriting, because this school would threaten to throw out your paper after the first grade if you wrote in print. My handwriting is a relic already now, but I can't imagine it when I'm older. On the other hand, I see Carden as a school that teaches kids to be themselves. Science, math, the arts, and language, you'll have it. Also, the school had a place for almost all kids.
We enrolled our eldest at Carden in Pre-school and we immediately loved it! He's now in 4th grade and his younger sister is in 2nd. We're very lucky to be at this school because my kids are really receiving topnotch education. Would highly recommend Carden Academy of Whittier!
