Jesuit High School is a wonderful environment for students to learn. Its teachers are professional, spiritual, and excellent. Overall, this school is truly committed to inspiring each and every student to achieve academic and personal greatness.
We had a terrible experience in this school. Academics and faculty are sub par. They're better than some public high schools, but not all. Consider this review before deciding pls!
There are many statements about brotherhood and the honor and values of Jesuit High School. I'm a parent and my son is a senior and I can say that this is a waste of time and money. It means that everything is a face. What really happens is privilege and favoritism at all levels. From access to grades to sports. Unfortunately, it's not an honest system. Those who give more see their child do better, and it's all a skit. In addition, my son hasn't acquired or done anything better here than he would anywhere else. The whole school is set up for parents to feel that they are doing something better for their child. Sadly, most parents buy into this, regardless of results or comparative ability. Also, as a faculty member in the engineering department at CSUS, I can tell you that being a Jesuit does not give you anything. I have been on the board for over twenty years and this is CSUS, not an elite uni that will consider it even less so. Your child won't gain anything from the Jesuits. I suggest you make your choices, spend your time and money, then wait for the result.
The Jesuit High School is not perfect. It may not be suitable for all boys, but it is a good fit for my three sons. It was harder than the public school route, which may be a better choice for some people. However, this school is a great choice if moral strength, great college academic preparation, and athletic, club, or theater opportunities are what your kids are looking for. The friends they make here will become brothers for life. My three sons graduated here as young men with all the skills necessary to become successful college graduates, developed a strong faith, became responsible, learned compassion to be a man for others, and developed solid values to become great husbands and probably better than me. It was a big investment in our family's time, talent, and money, but worth everything we paid to have three wonderful sons who are doing great in life. Everyone should consider this and determine for themselves if the fit is right for their son. Overall, this school is the best for my family.
